Welcome ...

Something is being communicated to you at all times. This is a very simple statement. Over time you will probably find a lot of simple statements on this page. I just happen to think that simple is good.

Even though a message is being sent, we are not always listening -- so we might not hear them and they just float by us. Working in public relations, I like to think I study what brands do and what they say. And, what people do and what they say. I feel like I see the messages ... all of the time ... everywhere ... and they are LOUD. Sometimes so loud you can't even see straight. But, of course, when I look around no one has their hands covering their ears, so it must just be me.

This is going to be a lot of fun. Should be a great conversation. But maybe you don't think so quite yet. You'll click off this page and go about your business and think nothing about it.

Then, in 18 minutes when you are watching TV, you'll notice that Pepsi's logo looks different. And, then you'll say to yourself that it really is cooler to have a Mac ... not just because they say so, but because it is. Right?

Then, as you shake it off and your mind drifts, you'll start to wonder why you stopped to pick up Starbucks this morning on the way to work instead of brewing your own coffee at home. Was it because you were out of time? Or was it because you had a big morning meeting and all of the 'global-thinkers' in the room drink it, too. Up early, grabbing Starbucks. Hip. Worldview.

And, you think you're wearing your Nike shorts right now -- on the couch -- because when you run you are pretty quick. No, wait ... you're slow. Worse yet - you don't know anymore because you haven't run in two months. But you're wearing the shorts because you are still an athlete.

Now, don't overthink it or start to analyze everything you hear and see ... and why you do certain things and wear certain clothes or drink certain drinks.

Hey -- that's why I am blogging -- because who are you if you don't have a blog? Now, who sent that message? Don't know, but I finally heard it. Check back soon ...

  6. Uh oh...who are you if you don't have a blog. I am in trouble. The fact that I'm reading a blog is a miracle in itself. I'm old school, but looking forward to being schooled by Ronnie D.
